21 aprile 2021 A new hope – Earth Day 2021
Carissimo Amico, questo anno è stato doloroso, spaventoso e triste. Molte persone hanno visto morire parenti, amici, conoscenti. Altre persone hanno perso il lavoro o sono state impossibilitate a svolgerlo. Anche il mondo dell’ikebana ha visto un’interruzione delle attività de visu e l’impossibilità di organizzare workshop o dimostrazioni. Per fortuna viviamo in un’epoca dove la tecnologia ci permette di portare avanti le lezioni online con gli allievi di livello avanzato oppure di organizzare esposizioni virtuali. Ce ne sono state molte in questo periodo ed è stato bello vedere lo spirito di partecipazione degli ikebanisti di tutto il mondo. Abbiamo deciso di organizzarne una anche noi con la speranza che sia una delle ultime perché inizieremo a realizzare di nuovo mostre e workshop dal vivo. Ti preghiamo di mandare un ikebana mai pubblicato prima e che rispecchi il titolo della mostra che vorremmo realizzare ovvero: “A new hope”. Infatti ti chiediamo di mandare il tuo lavoro entro il 20 aprile perché noi inizieremo la pubblicazione il 22 aprile ovvero il Giorno della Terra del 2021. Insieme alla foto ti preghiamo di inviarci il tuo nome e la scuola di appartenenza. Non è richiesto nessun altro dato. Ti ringraziamo della tua partecipazione certi che vorrai dare un tuo contributo in onore all’arte che professi.
Dearest friend, this year has been painful, scary and sad. Many people have seen relatives, friends, acquaintances die. Other people have lost their jobs or been unable to do it. Even the world of ikebana has faced an interruption of face-to-face activities and the impossibility of organizing workshops or demonstrations. Fortunately, we live in an era in which technology allows us to carry out online lessons with advanced level students or to organize virtual exhibitions. There have been many of these during this time and it was great to see how ikebanists from all over the world gladly partecipated. We have decided to organize one ourselves with the hope that it will among the last ones because this would mean that we would start carrying out live exhibitions and workshops again. Please send an ikebana picture that has never been published before and that reflects the title of the exhibition we would like to create: “A new hope”. We ask you to submit your work by April 20 because we will start publishing on April 22 or Earth Day 2021. Together with the photo please send us your name and the school you belong to. No other data is required. We thank you for your participation, and we are sure that you will send your contribution in honor of the art you profess.
Questo è stato l’invito (e la locandina) diffusi online sulle nostre pagine ufficiali legate all’ikebana, sui profili Instagram e ripostati gentilmente da Ikebana Sogetsu Toscana, Pagine Zen e Takumi Lifestyle. Un invito alla speranza, al risveglio personale nel momento in cui la Terra esce dall’inverno nel pieno dell’esplosione di colori e forme. Ci sembrava molto simbolico festeggiare in tale modo il Giorno della Terra. Ringrazio tutti coloro che hanno accolto l’invito dimostrando di comprendere e amare la nostra idea e li ringrazio per le meravigliose parole che hanno accompagnato i loro straordinari lavori. Hanno dimostrato, in tale modo, di amare questa arte e ciò che significa e non di usarla per mettere in mostra il proprio ego. Questo è il giusto approccio al mondo dell’arte dell’ikebana e ringrazio tutti coloro che hanno partecipato a questa grande festa. Gli ikebana sono postati in rigoroso ordine di arrivo.
This is the invitation (and the poster) published online on our official pages related to ikebana, on Instagram profiles and kindly reposted by Ikebana Sogetsu Toscana, Pagine Zen and Takumi Lifestyle. An invitation to hope, to personal awakening when the Earth comes out of winter in the midst of the explosion of colors and shapes. It seemed very symbolic to us to celebrate Earth Day in this way. I thank all those who accepted the invitation by demonstrating that they understand and love our idea and I thank them for the wonderful words that accompanied their extraordinary works. In this way they have shown that they love this art and what it means and not use it to show off their ego. This is the right approach to the world of ikebana art and I thank all those who participated in this great party. The arrangements are posted in strict order of arrival.

Complimenti Maestri percla bella iniziativa. Tanti ikebana da tutto il mondo…a dimostrazione che questa terra c’è ancora chi la ama e la vuole conservare nella sua bellezza. Buona giornata della Terra a tutti. Marialuisa
