As an Australian living abroad I have felt helpless watching news footage of fire engulfing my beloved country. This year the fires have hit close to home, with friends and family having been directly affected. The aim of this initiative is to bring together ikebana artists from all schools/ and all abilities to support those assisting and treating Australian native fauna affected by the recent bushfires.
As ikebana artists we have a profound love and respect for nature, it is my hope as the curator of this Virtual Ikebana Exhibition that this love and respect for nature spreads a global message of support and love from our community to those assisting some of Australia’s most vulnerable.
With much love, gratitude and thanks,
Louise Worner
