Luca Ramacciotti – Sogetsu Concentus Study Group

www.sogetsu.it

Immagine2Immagine3We had a lot of submissions for The 4th Everyone’s Sogetsu Ikebana Exhibition not only from Japan but around the world. I really appreciate your enthusiasm. The applicants differ in length of ikebana experience and are in various age groups, but all the works show that they freely enjoy ikebana, so when I evaluated them, I could not help smiling happily. I am sure that all of them applied to this exhibition to communicate with people around the world using their own creations. I sincerely hope such smiles brought out from seeing ikebana will spread worldwide through this internet exhibition.
As I say every time, for this exhibition your works are judged on the photos submitted by you. Therefore, please think carefully about expressions that only photos can do justice to or any angle that you want to say, “Look at my work from here!” You must enjoy both arranging flowers and using your creativity to show your work more impressively.
For the next Everyone’s Sogetsu Ikebana Exhibition, I will set a special theme in commemoration of the Sogetsu 90th Anniversary. Please wait for the announcement with anticipation. I am looking forward to seeing your works again in the next exhibition.

This morning I woke up with an email sent by the teacher Paola Belfiore saying: “Bravissimo Luca, congratulations, wonderful ikebana, well-deserved award!” I do not know what it refers to, and then I find this. Excited? Really. Incredulous? Much. But I owe it to Lucio Farinelli who convinced me to send this entry to the contest, to Sebastiano Allegrini that taught me how to make the vase,  to Ilse Beunen for her videos and to Ben Huybrechts for his teachings on photography.
